Corn Syrup
Ingredients
- 450g Caster Sugar
- 180ml Water
- ¼ teaspoon Cream of Tartar
- pinch Salt
Directions
1. | Combine all ingredients in a thick bottomed saucepan and bring to a boil |
2. | Reduce heat to a simmer then cover with a lid. Brush a little water around the sides of the pan to prevent sugar crystals forming |
3. | Cook until it reaches soft ball stage on a sugar thermometer, stirring often |
4. | Cool syrup and store in airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 months |
